Postpartum care is not one appointment or one universal checklist. It is a network of clinical care, practical help, rest, nourishment, and emotional support shaped around you.
Start with the care you already have
Ask your prenatal care team what follow-up is standard, who to call between visits, and which symptoms need urgent attention. Write the answers down and share them with the people supporting you.
Name the support that would make daily life lighter
Consider meals, sleep protection, feeding support, pelvic health, mental health, and help with household tasks. Specific requests are often easier for friends and family to act on.
Keep the plan flexible
Recovery can change from one week to the next. Revisit your plan, ask new questions, and seek qualified care whenever something feels concerning.
